I am so glad this has all melted….spring is coming soon!!

CT and I love getting presents! The older we get, it seems like the less we get….what is that all about??? Anyways, Chris’s parents were awesome enough to send us a Valentines package full of goodies and the best part? HOMEMADE RASPBERRY JAM! YAY!

CHAOS. No, not the roller coaster from Opryland…that is how I would describe Times Square. We learned our lesson this Christmas season when we tried to go to Rockefeller several times and came home each time exhausted and frustrated at the sheer number of bodies in one place. And NO, we did not brave it on New Years Eve. I don’t think you could pay me to experience that! Thank goodness that time of year is over and about half of the tourists have gone home so when a client called up to get some scouting shots, we jumped on the opportunity to go see the area on a “tamer” day.

I’m finally going through everything I have shot recently! I think that is one of the hardest things about being a photographer is the personal file management. Once it gets put away I have a tendency not to look at it again. But alas, I have made time and will try to put up pictures more often. Here’s the first of many..

As I mentioned in my previous post, last night Atlanta held their local Addy Awards ceremony. Chris and I were both recipients of awards…we both took home a silver for the Gay is Good, God is Good Poster. I also received the Gold for photography with my Gold miner series. I got a phone call to let me know and we were so excited…then I started getting texts and phone calls like crazy…turns out my gold miners also took home the Student BEST IN SHOW!!! I am so honored and humbled that my work was chosen. I cannot believe that a photograph series was chosen over ads, logos, posters, packaging design, etc. but I must say that it is pretty exciting!
All in all, Portfolio Center took home 3 Bronze, 27 Silver, 5 Gold and Best in Show. Way to go Rachel, Marc, Holly, Nathan and the many others that won! Chris and I were both just sick that we did not make the trip down to Atlanta to experience such an amazing night. We feel so blessed to be able to represent such a great school.

Good news! Chris and I both were notified last week that we have won Addy Awards in the local Atlanta area competition! Chris won one for his “Gay is Good, God is Good” poster and I won two, one for the previously mentioned poster photography and one for the Gold Miners portrait series. We find out tomorrow night what level (gold, silver or bronze) we won and if we get to go on to the Regional competition. How exciting is that!!
This is quite possibly the most awesome thing I have ever seen. I seriously want one of these cute things in my possession at all times. I wonder if Max would let me dress him up like one of those puppies?
It is perfect except for the ending. I hate the abrupt way they scare all the puppies…I would have liked it better had it just ended on a sweet note.
This one is pretty darn cute too. They are kind of addicting, I just want to watch them over and over again!
Just a few more photos of the snow aftermath. I have never lived in a place where it snows like this!
